"Hopefully they'll grow some balls and just bound on us and try to
overrun us, but they don't want to die that quickly," the paratrooper
said.
Two hours later, Al Qaida in Iraq did just that. On March 26th, 2007 Al Qaida in Iraq attacked O.P. Omar, a small
outpost in Al Anbar province manned by Army paratroopers from Blackfoot
Company, 1-501st. Al Qaida brought two suicide truck bombs, and more than 40 gunmen to the 20 minute battle.
Documentary filmmaker JD Johannes was embedded with Blackfoot Company
on March 26th and was nearly killed twice while filming the action.
From the combat footage, interviews with the soldiers who manned the
walls, hi-resolution satellite imagery and 3-D modeling comes a
in-depth look at the firefight and the paratroopers who fought it.
Special Features: Audio Commentary--Matt Burden of blackfive.net
interviews JD Johannes about the battle at OP Omar. Watch the episode
again with insights and asides from Matt and JD.
