Earlier this week I pointed out Senator Barack Obama once proposed having all combat forces out of Iraq by March 31st 2008.
When asked, "In light of the success of the surge and the mood of young Iraqis as portrayed by the New York Times, does Sen. Obama still stand by his desire to have all U.S. Combat forces out of Iraq in next few weeks?"
Well, I have my answer from one of his foreign policy advisors :
"He will, of course, not rely on some plan that he's crafted as a presidential candidate or a U.S. Senator,"
Oh, OK. So what he proposed in January 2007 about having all U.S. Troops out by March 31st doesn't really mean much.
Well, what about what he is saying now ?
"You can't make a commitment in March 2008 about what circumstances will be like in January of 2009,"
Um, then what plan is he willing to commit to and rely on?
"He will rely upon a plan - an operational plan - that he pulls
together in consultation with people who are on the ground to whom he
doesn't have daily access now, as a result of not being the president.
So to think - it would be the height of ideology to sort of say, 'Well,
I said it, therefore I'm going to impose it on whatever reality greets
me.'"
Sen. Obama does not stand by his Jan. 2007 proposal or even his current
proposal. Which means he doesn't really have a proposal. He has a lot
of words.
Truly, 'Judgement You Can Trust' and change you can cut and paste .
Help Support JD as he prepares to shoot the next documentaries of the Outside the Wire Series!
We all know that freedom is not free--and neither is reporting from Iraq.
Each digital tape capturing the heroic efforts of Soldiers and Marines
costs $7. JD uses almost 100 tapes on each trip. One DVD buys one
tape that will permanently capture what the media refuses to cover.
As you know JD spends his time in Iraq with the Soldiers and Marines
doing the work Outside The Wire. That means hundreds and thousands of
dollars of equipment and gear gets damaged. Three dollars buys a new
protective lens cover. Fifty dollars buys a pair of ballistic glasses.
Just to get there, the airfare costs more than $1,500.
It all helps and it is all needed to tell the story that is not being told.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and any support you can give.
