"Redeploying our troops who are bogged down in the middle of an Iraqi civil war will enable us to refocus on our top national security: the global fight against Al Qaeda and its affiliates," said Senator Russell D. Feingold, Democrat of Wisconsin. (April 27, 2007)

But.....

"Al Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden is orchestrating militants' operations in Iraq and Afghanistan, a senior Taliban commander said in remarks broadcast on Wednesday." (Reuters DUBAI April 25th)

So, the top national security priority is fighting Al Qaeda and its affiliates. Osama bin Laden, who leads Al Qaeda, is orchestrating operations in Iraq, which include stoking the now deminishing Sunni on Shia violence some people mistakenly call a civil war.

Therefore the best way to wage a global fight against Al Qaeda and its affiliates is to.....redeploy, leave, surrender, etc. a theater of operations where Al Qaeda and its affiliates are carrying out operations at the direction of bin Laden.

Uh, rrriiiight.

I would love to see Feingold's plan for waging the "global fight against Al Qaeda."

I'm sure it is a model of logic.

Oh, and by the way, this was a civil war.
