Back in training after recovering from a mild cold.
My training partner, Jules, had a cold in November, but went back to the gym too soon, fatigued herself and the cold lingered for nearly a month.
So I took a week off to recover from the cold and to let my body recuperate from the previous 2 months of solid training.
A reader asked what supplements I use asking how it is possible to go from 140 pound arm curls to 180 pound arm curls so fast.
For supplements, I drink Muslce Milk for breakfast and after my weight training. Thats it, that is exotic as I get.
The reader was infering that I might be taking steroids or an andro like supplement.
Nope. Not that I have anything against anabolic steroids. If they were legally available with a doctor's prescription for cosmetic purposes, I would be the first person in line for a prescription for Anavar.
I do have a problem with felony crimes and popping pills or injecting myself with chemicals of unknown provenance.
The key to my being able to lift more is 350 grams of protein a day and that the DC Training program is built on lifting more.
I didn't go from 140 lb. barbell curls to 180 lb. barbell curls in one jump. I went through it in 5 lb. increments. I had always thought 140 lbs. was pretty good, so never moved up.
Last Wed. I stalled out in the number of reps, so Jules and I have switched over to dumbell curls for biceps yesterday.
Since it was my first work out back I just did 45 lb. dumbells, but will try 60 lb. dumbells on Sunday and keep going up in weight until I stall out then switch to another bicep exercise.
Thats it. That's the secret. Nothing profound, but it works and I can't believe I wasn't doing it for all these years.
