In the foyer outside the Tactical Operations Center of JSS Black Lion poster sized Post-it note is on display.

"When historians write about the war in Iraq they will write about the invasion of 2003 and the Surge...."

The media is already here in force...

In 2005 when I drifted through the Combined Press Information Center I was always the lone member of the media.

At Camp Fallujah I rarely saw another member of the media.  In fact I saw more talk radio show hosts than members of the MSM.

How I long for the good'ol days.

The embed lounge at CPIC is regularly near capacity.

I shared a unit with Jeff Emanuel of Redstate.com and we shared a room with two BBC reporters.

While at COP Battle, one of the most primitive outposts I have ever seen, AP photographer Maya Alleruzzo drifted through.  She is a great photographer and the soldiers enjoy her.

On the white board at FOB Falcon was a full slate of reporters who would be spending time with the 4th IBCT.

Now I just heard that Fallujah, my old home base is overflowing with reporters.

What is this war coming too?

Freedom isn't free...and neither is reporting from Iraq.  To help offset the costs of independent reporting and filmmaking of our military, please...
