'Danger Close' has been selected by the GI Film Festival and will be shown at the Carnegie Institution on May 16th.
'Danger Close' is the first part a documentary trilogy I filmed in Iraq in 2007.
'Danger Close' shows how two platoons of U.S. Army Paratroopers took everything Al Qaida could throw at them--two suicide truck bombs, Rocket Propelled Grendades, heavey machine gun fire--and emerged victorious.
When the dust cleared the only ones who died were the terrorists.
'Danger Close' is a story of the quiet heroes of the war in Iraq you never hear of.
While technically a documentary short, 'Danger Close' at times feels like an action movie because I filmed it right in the middle of kill-or-be-killed firefight.
Except in this action movie, all the bullets are real.
If you are in Washington, D.C. on the 16th, please drop by the festival and the screening of 'Danger Close' at 3:30pm.
I will be there answering the inevitable question.
The Outside the Wire Project would not exist without the support of our generous patrons.
Freedom isn't free, and neither is traveling to Iraq to show a different side of the War on Terror.
